Madhu Ranjan Verma and his wife Sarita Devi bore the brunt of the attack, with Madhu sustaining a gunshot wound to his hand and Sarita being hit in the stomach. Both victims were rushed to Motihari Sadar Hospital for treatment, but Sarita's critical condition necessitated her transfer to a private nursing home.
